The Form & Force Story

From overweight beginner
to top 5% in nine months.

Form & Force was not built in a laboratory. It was built on the road. David Richards went from overweight beginner who thought his bike was the wrong size to comfortably completing a 200-mile South to North Wales ride at an average of 28kph in under 12 hours within nine months of starting to train.

That journey shapes every fit and every training plan. You get clinical rigour paired with the understanding of someone who has lived the transformation and knows exactly what it takes to get there.

We work alongside specialist physiotherapists and sports medicine practitioners. Where injury or movement issues intersect with your position, you get joined-up care, not guesswork.

LCW Wales Performance

Relatable Experience. Clinical Credibility.

The most overlooked variable in cycling isn't equipment.
It's position.

Most cyclists have never had their position properly assessed. They've had a saddle raised in a shop, or followed an online guide. A poor fit doesn't just cause discomfort (it limits power output, accelerates fatigue, and over time causes genuine injury).

A professional bike fit is the most cost-effective performance upgrade you can make. The results are measurable from the first ride. And when fit and training are aligned, progress accelerates.

The most overlooked variable in cycling performance isn't your power-to-weight ratio. It's whether you can actually access the power you already have.

Structured Training Plans

Train With
Purpose

Structured plans built around your bike fit, your goals, and your life. Informed by the experience of going from overweight beginner to top 5% LCW Wales performance in nine months (200 miles, South to North Wales, sub-12 hours).

Structure beats motivation every time. The right plan, built around the right position, makes the difference between getting to the start line and getting to the finish.

The Coaching Philosophy

Training without structure
is just exercise.

To achieve real, measurable performance change (the kind that gets you to the start line of a big event confident rather than hoping), you need progressive load management, intelligent recovery, and a plan that adapts as you do.

Form & Force training plans are built on the same principles that took David Richards from an overweight beginner to completing a 200-mile ride in under 12 hours, within nine months of starting to train.

Training always follows bike fit where possible. A plan built around a poor position is a plan built on a fault. When both are aligned, progress accelerates significantly.

📈
Progressive Load
Structured increases in volume and intensity, with recovery built in. Not just riding more (riding smarter).
🎯
Event-Specific
Plans built around your goal event. Periodised to peak at the right moment, not just to train consistently.
🔄
Fit-Aligned
Training built around your bike fit outcomes. Load progresses in line with comfort, not ahead of it.
👁
Data Review
Optional data analysis with monthly coaching. Power, heart rate, load metrics reviewed and fed back into the plan.
